GDA is a graphical, object-oriented software product for developing anddeploying realtime monitoring, diagnosis, and statistical process controlapplications for online processes. Engineers can easily createapplications by cloning and connecting predefined graphical objects thatcan filter and reason about realtime data.GDA's underlying expert system is a powerful tool for identifying theroot cause of problems and helping operators take corrective action.Advanced SPC tracking and charting features assist operators inpredicting problems before they happen. GDA can also use fuzzy logic forderiving conclusions about data. On request, GDA provides an explanationof its reasoning. GDA can also be configured to perform "what-if"analyses for operator training and testing. Applications of GDA rangefrom intelligent alarming handling in a large banking network, to processmonitoring in an oil refinery, to decision support in a semiconductormanufacturing facility.
